Carnaval is slechts 1 facet van 'grote bijeenkomsten' en ook nog eens vrij regionaal.
Het festival seizoen is ook een grote, zeker in aantallen mensen.
Het verbaast mij hoezeer mensen (relatief makkelijk) meegaan in de retoriek van 'het is gevaarlijk, het moet anders' tot aan "het moet niet meer mogen!!11!!1!!!".
Duizenden en duizenden jaren waren er ziektes, oorlogen en andere redenen waardoor duizenden en zelfs miljoenen mensen stierven.
Het was vreselijk, verdrietig en zeer ingrijpend.
Maar men pakte het leven weer zo goed en zo kwaad als het ging op, en de wereld draaide door.
Wat maakt dat mensen zo het perspectief verliezen nu?
Ik kijk naar de tv, spotje na spotje, reclame na reclame, # na #, programna na programma. Alles is verzadigd met dit virus en wat wel en niet (meer) mag.
Ondertussen zijn vliegvelden open en kun je in de rij staan met iemand die nét terug is uit weetikveelwaar....
Het is allemaal zo onbegrijpelijk voor mij.
De logica, de cijfers, het beleid, de reacties.
Ik kijk er naar en vloek regelmatig.
Want wat me het meeste opvalt is hoe mensen tegen elkaar worden opgezet (ik doe/vind dit en jij doet/vind dat) en hoe wantrouwen tot in elke milimeter van het dagelijks leven wordt geinjecteerd. In hoe en wat jij doet, wat anderen daar van vinden (en worden aangemoedigd daar over te klikken) het totaal wegvallen van intieme diepe relaties en vriendschappen...zowel door letterlijk afstand maar ook door die gecreeerde tegenstellingen van 'ik ben beter bezig dan jij'.
Het is een virus.
Na dit virus komt er vast en zeker weer een ander virus, misschien wel nog dodelijker, of niet dodelijker maar wel lastiger qua symptomen of besmettings- schaal. Of een (super) bacterie. Of...of...of...
Zelfs tijdens de spaanse griep, waar stapels lijken op elke straathoek lagen ging het leven door.
We kunnen niet iedere keer de wereld letterlijk stop zetten.
Dat gaat ten koste van té veel.
Van vrijheid, tot economie tot puur simpel liefdevolle menselijkheid...
Onze maatschappij wordt momenteel via de media gemasseerd en ik vind de resultaten schokkend.
ik zie dit vooral als een unieke kans om heel veel te leren. en dan niet alleen over "een virus", wat het is en hoe het zich verspreidt en zo, maar vooral mbt de maatschappij. Hoe reageren mensen, hoe reageren overheden? Wat gebeurt er met de economie, de supply chain? je ziet dat Europa uiteenvalt, vele grenzen zijn deels gesloten, landen vliegen elkaar in de haren. Meeste mensen reageren erg mak. Binnenkort vieren we onze "vrijheid" maar we smeken inmiddels om een controle-/politiestaat, leveren ons laatste beetje vrijheid en privacy graag in, we vragen om grote boetes voor hangjongeren en klagen over motorrijders. mensen zijn bang gemaakt met dit virus. En dat komt sommige mensen goed uit...… en wat dat betreft past deze coronacrisis mooi in het rijtje koude oorlog - terrorisme - opwarming van de aarde...….
Dit is een mooie kans om te zien hoe "de mens" reageert op crisissituaties, en ik moet zeggen, het valt mij reuze mee. kwa onrust althans, meeste mensen houden hoofd koel. Ik had meer knokpartijen in de winkels verwacht bijvoorbeeld, meer stress en wanhoop.
bovendien is dit een goede kans om te "toetsen' hoe goed je hebt geprept. tuurlijk, je hebt je waterfilter, survivalmes en wc-papier, maar ben je ook mentaal voorbereid op tijden van crisis, onzekerheid, vrijheidsbeperking, stress, gebrek aan uitzicht mbt toekomst, ben je financieel onafhankelijk, hoe ga je om met de kans op het verliezen van mensen in je omgeving, ben je voorbereid op de kans dat je zelf het loodje legt door corona, hoe ga je om met verveling, met je kinderen, je partner.....enzovoort enzovoort

Wat ik me zomaar afvraag, met het tot nu toe tegenvallend resultaat van de uitkomst van het Sanquin onderzoek, waarom dan zoveel drukte om jongeren die schijt aan de regels hebben, die zorgen dan toch keurig voor de door het RIVM zo gepropageerde herd immunity zonder zelf al te veel risico te lopen het ziekenhuis in te draaien.
Is dat mogelijk ook wat Bruls met zijn opmerkingen vandaag in het achterhoofd heeft?
wat valt er tegen aan dat onderzoek? en volgens wie val dat tegen?
de drukte om de jongeren is misschien wel JUIST daarom, OMDAT ze schijt hebben aan de regels......

Het enige dat we met zekerheid weten is de onzekerheid.
Maar we zien dat landen een zekere immuniteit bereiken tegen het virus, hoe dit gebeurt is onduidelijk. De huidige tests voldoen niet en de resultaten lijken niet in een "normaal" viraalmodel te passen.
De vraag is dus vooral hoe we de immunisatie kunnen meten, niet of de immunistaie bestaat.
Juist, dat was ook de strekking van dat artikel; er zijn nog erg veel dingen onduidelijk. Maar uit alles wat ik de laatste tijd heb gelezen maak ik op dat die kudde immuniteit er waarschijnlijk nooit komt. Lang geleden (dwz meer dan twee weken, maar met zoveel informatie de laatste tijd lijkt het erg lang) gelezen dat mensen die voor de tweede keer besmet raken in meeste gevallen er ernstiger aan toe zijn dan bij eerste besmetting. Lees/hoor daar laatste tijd nog maar weinig over (misschien omdat lang niet altijd zeker is of het daadwerkelijk een herbesmetting betreft).
Wat me verder vooral opviel in dat artikel was dat woord "Immunity passport", voor het eerst dat ik dat lees. Ben de laatste tijd minder bezig met ontwikkeling/verspreiding van het virus, en verdiep me meer in directe en indirecte gevolgen op middellange - en lange termijn.

"Another alarming headline that came late last month was the warning from the United Nations Food and Agriculture organization who has now warned of global food shortages in the coming months.
“The worst that can happen is that governments restrict the flow of food,” Maximo Torero, chief economist of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, said.
Harvests have been good and staple crops remain in demand, but a shortage of field workers brought on by the pandemic and a move towards protectionism — tariffs and export bans — could lead to problems in the coming weeks, Torero said, according to the report.
“All measures against free trade will be counterproductive. Now is not the time for restrictions or putting in place trade barriers. Now is the time to protect the flow of food around the world,” Torero added, the news course reported.
Some countries have begun to protect their food supplies by restricting exports, which Torero reportedly said could lead to an overall decrease in trade and a subsequent decline in food production."

‘Miljoenen medisch dossiers open zonder toestemming’
Van miljoenen Nederlanders wordt, zonder hun toestemming, het medisch dossier toegankelijk voor artsen, schrijft NRC. Vanwege de coronacrisis heeft minister Martin van Rijn besloten dat huisartsenposten en de Eerste Hulp dossiers van coronapatiënten mogen bekijken. Het moet 'triage' makkelijker maken. Dat is de afweging welke patiënt naar het ziekenhuis moet of thuis kan uitzieken.
Normaal gesproken is het strafbaar om die dossiers zonder toestemming te bekijken. Privacybeschermers vrezen dat bredere toegang tot meer dossiers leidt tot onbevoegden die dossiers bekijken, zo schrijft de krant.

Ik mis in de media informatie over Zweden. Een land waar ook corona is, maar waar men geen beperkende maatregelen aan de bevolking heeft opgelegd.
Op dit moment zijn er in Zweden 11445 mensen besmet en 1033 mensen gestorven aan het virus. Dat zijn vergelijkbare getallen met landen die wel beperkende maatregelen hebben opgelegd. Alleen daar wordt de economie niet grotendeels stilgelegd, waardoor er minder bedrijven failliet gaan.
Men laat op de journaals alleen de ergste landen zien en het grote gevaar dat landen met een slecht zorgstelsel (Afrika enz.) lopen zien. Is dat omdat het spectaculairder is om negatief nieuws te tonen of om de mensen maar vooral zich aan de beperkende regels te laten houden? Want o wee!

Projecting the transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 through the postpandemic period
"Abstract
It is urgent to understand the future of severe acute respiratory syndrome–coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) transmission. We used estimates of seasonality, immunity, and cross-immunity for betacoronaviruses OC43 and HKU1 from time series data from the USA to inform a model of SARS-CoV-2 transmission. We projected that recurrent wintertime outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 will probably occur after the initial, most severe pandemic wave. Absent other interventions, a key metric for the success of social distancing is whether critical care capacities are exceeded. To avoid this, prolonged or intermittent social distancing may be necessary into 2022. Additional interventions, including expanded critical care capacity and an effective therapeutic, would improve the success of intermittent distancing and hasten the acquisition of herd immunity. Longitudinal serological studies are urgently needed to determine the extent and duration of immunity to SARS-CoV-2. Even in the event of apparent elimination, SARS-CoV-2 surveillance should be maintained since a resurgence in contagion could be possible as late as 2024."

maar aangaande een vaccin, nee. Ik zou dat het eerst minstens een jaar getest was voor ik het aan mij of mijn kinderen toegediend wil hebben. En een jaar is echt het absolute minimum.
Ik heb daarbij de bijwerkingen van het vaccin tegen baarmoederhalskanker in mijn achterhoofd. Al die meisjes die er levenslang door getekend zijn...
Ik sluit me hier bij aan, het moet minstens een jaar getest zijn. en zelfs dan nog, liever niet. en mocht het verplicht gaan worden voor bv vliegreizen, zoals @T.A.P. suggereert, dan hoef ik de rest van mijn leven niet meer te vliegen...… ben ik daar ook meteen mooi vanaf....

`Researchers in Shanghai hope to determine whether some recovered coronavirus patients have a higher risk of reinfection after finding surprisingly low levels of Covid-19 antibodies in a number of people discharged from hospital.
A team from Fudan University analysed blood samples from 175 patients discharged from the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre and found that nearly a third had unexpectedly low levels of antibodies. In some cases, antibodies could not be detected at all.
“Whether these patients were at high risk of rebound or reinfection should be explored in further studies,” the team wrote in preliminary research released on Monday on Medrxiv.org, an online platform for preprint papers.`

ik kijk nog maar weinig filmpjes de laatste tijd, want er zijn gewoon te veel filmpjes, interviews, artikelen etc. die ik zou willen zien/lezen, maar daar is simpelweg te weinig tijd voor. Dit filmpje heb ik wel in zijn geheel bekeken. Ik vond het de moeite waard. Een andere kijk op herd immunity, social distancing, etc, en dat nog wel door een "echte deskundige". Heeft die man gelijk?

US accused of 'modern piracy' after diversion of masks meant for Europe
The US has been accused of “modern piracy” after reportedly diverting a shipment of masks intended for the German police, and outbidding other countries in the increasingly fraught global market for coronavirus protective equipment.
About 200,000 N95 masks made by the manufacturer 3M were diverted to the US as they were being transferred between planes in Thailand, according to the Berlin authorities who had ordered the masks for the police force.
Andreas Geisel, the interior minister for Berlin state, described the diversion as “an act of modern piracy” and appealed to the German government to demand Washington conform to international trading rules. “This is no way to treat trans-Atlantic partners,” Geisel said. “Even in times of global crisis there should be no wild west methods.”

ik ga er voorlopig nog van uit dat dit coronacircus nog lang niet voorbij is. het zal eerst nog wel flink wat slechter gaan voordat het beter gaat. eerst maar eens hopen dat we dit zonder kleerscheuren doorkomen, hopen dat wij en onze naasten het overleven, hopen dat er geen voedselschaarste komt, geen plunderingen, geen massale blackouts, enz. en na de crisis zal de wereld er heel anders uit zien, we zullen een heel groot deel van onze vrijheden, privacy en rechten kwijt raken en ook heel veel centjes. ik kijk ver vooruit, maar concentreer me voorlopig eerst op de komende weken/maanden.

Such undocumented cases are still contagious and the study found them to be the source of most of the virus’s spread in China before the restrictions came in. Maar hij wil niet dat mensen met geringe klachten toch naar buiten gaan met een mondkapje op, omdat het beleid is dat zij binnenblijven en in thuisisolatie gaan
