  1. Are you serious Dick?

    That's very cheap. I could google up something about Irak that would show a less convenient image. Or other conflicts. Both ways, in favor or dishonor of Amerika OR The Netherlands.

    War is dirty, both nations have there black pages in historie......

    If I recall correctly, the female soldier pictured was punished as were many other soldiers who were stationed at the prison.
  2. Message for stupid people who can only think in black and white;

    Humanitarian assistence from the 13 th US Marine Expeditionary Unit in Irak (USMC);

    Humanitarian assistence from Dutch forces in the Netherlands Indies

    We killed 400.000 Indonesians that only wanted their freedom. We call it a "Police Action". Are you sure that you still want to be on this site SoCal??

    The Dutch are ok by me. Your character proves that.

    I was once in the very Battalion pictured.

  3. I think it's better you stick to your complete lack of understanding the truth and delusions and we discuss prepping tactics and techniques. Much more interesting!
    Do not be so easily offended by someone who does not believe as you do. Your level of anxiety reflects that you hold untested beliefs that are easily threatened by another who does not believe the same. Defend your position in good spirit and know that I do the same.
  4. There is a lot wrong with te USA, and there is al lot wrong with the Netherlands. So we must be brothers.

    SoCal, proud to be your first friend on preppers.nl en still proud of this;

    "Robinson sailed Andrew Doria down the Delaware River on 17 October 1776, for a voyage to the West Indies to obtain a cargo of munitions and military supplies at the Dutch island of Sint Eustatius. When the brig reached the island on 16 November, she fired an 11-gun salute and received a reply from Fort Oranje—the first salute to an American flag on board an American warship in a foreign port".

    You are a masterful historian. We understand each other.
  5. If the guy would have just paid his tax then your government wouldnt have to spend a lot of taxpayers money collecting it.

    They should send him an invoice for extra police costs.

    Perhaps Bundy should have paid the fees. The response was not proportional to the offense and the government knew there was support for Bundy even though he owed money for fees. This was an attempt by the government to show the power they possess. It backfired. There is a large distrust of our institutions of government in the US. The NSA, IRS, BLM and on and on. Many no longer believe the government is here to help or simply may not be able to help and that is one reason the prepper movement exists in the US.
  6. I cannot begin to tell you how wrong you are. But hey, I'll give it shot. En daarna ga ik m'n nest in want het is f*cking laat...

    You know, just as well as I do, that it isn't @SoCal92057's fault (Jeezzz, what the hell kinda nick is that?). We cannot blame him, or praise him for that matter, what the country or nation, where he was born just out of sheer, random luck, has done for humanity. I mean, if (here we go again) @SoCal92057 had been born in Islamabad, he would have been a Muslim. Had he been born in ancient Greece, he would have given praise to Zeus, would he have been born in Waco, he would be sucking some weirdo's dick, for that matter, he could have just been an altar boy as well........

    Yes, we are preppers, and yes, we have our differences, but at least we all have freedom of speech.

    Kumbaya, God bless, may the force be with you, may the spaghetti monster have mercy on your soul.

    And please, don't dicuss weapons or ammo here. Or religion.

    JB

    Amen. There I said it, now you will all turn to pillars of salt.
  7. And the French helped you to get your own country, at expense of the native inhabitants.
    If you mean the American Indians, that is a very interesting subject. Very interesting culture or lack thereof. No writing, had not invented the wheel and did not know how to make metal. They were cave men and their "culture" was pushed aside by the European settlers. Happens all over the world and still does.
  8. The rules for this forum are only provided in Dutch.

    WTF? @SoCal92057 those two have nothing to do with eachother.

    Typical short sighted american relegious point of view.

    Raycoupe, I have no idea what you are talking about. I did not begin this discussion. You know almost nothing about me. I do not see anything untrue in your quoted statement. In fact it is not even religious.
  9. *add dramatic music HERE*

    The technology that sent men to the moon came from the Germans. The battle in Iraq was based on pure lies. Technological medical breakthroughs, like penicilline, is a British invention, Aspirin was developed by Bayer (damn Germans again). The nuclear bomb (f*ck it, again the Germans), slavery was invented by the Dutch (shame on us...). The Canadians actually freed most of Europe, well Holland at least (damn Mounties!). Holland contributes the most, world wide, calculated per capita, when it comes down to financial aid when TSHTF.

    Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the US has done and still does (Marshall plan, etc.), we honor those who served and sacrified all, I have no intention whatsoever to piss on your parade, but let's keep things like they are...

    JB you protest to much. First, have you read the book? If not you could not possibly understand my point. By the way, von Braun was a great scientist and visionary but it was the US that sent men to the Moon. Such a project as the Apollo missions took a national effort and industrial base that no one else had then or now. Only the US. You might as well say that Jules Verne is to be given credit. We are not talking about individuals but nation states and their course through history. Keep your comments within the context of my facts. If you want to wander off in another direction you are typing for yourself.
  10. I was wondering @SoCal92057 do you know the book "rogue state"
    The US is a great nation that goes in many directions. We send men to the Moon and into battle in Iraq. We cure devastating diseases but also create the most fearsome weapons that could eradicate mankind. We strive for the equality of man but have a dark history of slavery. We have enormous wealth and still can find poverty within any major city. We extol freedom but have an ever more oppressive federal government. About seventy years ago we fought and won a war to conquer a rogue nation and help to free Europe and the only territorial spoils received was the land to bury our war dead. When some part of the world is devastated by natural disaster we send aid but receive none when the same happens here. Nope, I have not read the book you mention.

  11. The same statement should go with the regular Dutch army as well, however when we look at everyday practice it shows that very few of the 'POG' are keeping up with the required standards of being a basic rifleman.

    Having said that, it also goes that the term 'basic rifleman' is unequal to an 'infantryman'. A rifleman is able to fire his weapon and be proficient in basic military skills. Being a rifleman is often not his/her's coree business. They are often involved in logistics, healthcare, engineering etc. An Infantryman is something different, his sole purpose is to fight, fire his weapon and kill the enemy. Therefore, it is required and expected of him to be a master in operating his weaponsystem(s) and deploy them to the field in all conditions.

    Well said. What is the current battle rifle and caliber used by the Dutch Army? What is the distance that your infantrymen are expected to be able to hit a man size target with that same rifle? Not your snipers, but your average infantryman. Is the rifle with metal sights or optical sights?
